Uncle Morty's Home of Used Cars was founded in the early 2000's, by Jarrad.B, the director of the TV series. The original idea was in December 22, 2002, three days before Christmas. He and his team discussed the possibile inclusion of a new TV series based around poor conditions and low pay at a workplace. Thus, UMHUC was born, where "enslaved" workers would be the employees for Uncle Morty, a wealthy car businessman. The primary location of the series is set within Uncle Morty's automotive dealership, located in a medium-sized town within the fictional country.  
  
From its run from 2003 to 2016, it has won best TV show over eight times, and critics have compared the series to real events. In January 2016, the director UMHUC announced the show will receive its final renewal, and no season for 2017 will be planned. The final episode was played privately on 22 December 2016, 14 years after the show was imagined for the first time. The final episode focused on the demise of Uncle Morty, who had been living in isolation for months until his death. 

Burke incited personal and work reasons, stating that "Now that I have grown up to adulthood, it is time to leave certain projects and hobbies behind to pursue your dreams and goals. My schedule for 2016 is busy enough, and so 2017 will most likely be a burden. It is with much displeasure that UMHUC will not renew itself for 2017, but rather renew its final season this year."
